By John Cooper, Hampton, VA Motorcycle Accident Injury Lawyer
When motorcycles are involved in crashes with larger vehicles such as pick-up trucks, the motorcyclist often comes off worse.
This was the case in Hampton over the weekend when a motorcyclist and a pick-up truck were involved in a crash at Wind Mill Point Rd. and Johnson in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, VA.
Tragically this crash claimed the life of William Edward Crooker, III, 48, who was from Hampton. My thoughts are with his family.
Police have not yet said who was to blame. What we do know is that larger vehicles often fail to notice motorcycles until it’s too late, particularly when they are making turns. And because they lack protection, injuries to motorcyclists are more serious.
WVEC.com reported emergency officers found Mr. Crooker with life threatening injuries at the scene of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The TV station reported no charges had been filed in the immediate aftermath of the incident.
Irrespective of charges, the family of a deceased motorcyclist can file a wrongful death case after a crash if another driver is at fault. If you have any questions contact our experienced Hampton motorcyclist injury lawyers.
